Reboot

I got to play my first game of Infinity last night at Makati Marauders. I got to face off against Gino Cobbarubias’ (PhearTheHam) Nomads, and with two very crucial and very lucky critical rolls, I got a W on my first game!

Pinoy Valhalla 2016 – Day One

Guns were blazing hotter than the sun outside when we stepped in House of Geek last March 24, 2016 for Pinoy Valhalla 2016. Game eternal! Shiny and chrome!

The first four of Valhalla got down with a team battle: Karlo Piscano’s Ba’Kash with Dick Sy’s RSN against the team of Jeff Yu’s Terran and John Zablan’s Relthoza. They played with 800 points per faction and with the Admiral win condition, the team of Karlo and Dick came out victorious!

I got to play against Mike Taroy’s Brewer’s Guild with my Union. He had a very face smash line up: Tapper, Scum, Mash, Stave, Hooper and Spigot. My Union was more geared towards football, but while I was taking out my team, I changed up a member for Fangtooth, but only since I wanted to play with him. My line up was Blackheart, Coin, Fangooth, Gutter, Rage and Mist. We were beating down on each other, dropping members off the pitch but some smart goals by Spigot and Blackheart. In the end, I got the win with a Snap Shot from Blackheart to Mist 12-10.

John and I waded into a refresher Malifaux game, 50SS with my Ortega crew against his Lilith-led Neverborn. I got the lead by shooting down several of his Terror Tots but things crumbled from there when his forces got into melee – Black Blood ruined everything! And Papa Loco going Boom did not help, too. It was a sad day for Guild.

Karl Manalo’s Mortician’s Guild faced off against Mike Taroy’s Brewer’s Guild. I did not get to see the match, but Mike won with a goof football game. At the same time, Karlo showed Koko Campiglio how to play some Warmachine, too – Khador vs Retribution of Scyrah.

A couple of good homies dropped by, too: Jon Lansang, and the brothers SJ and Chicco Quema.

I got to play against John Zablan’s Fisherman’s Guild with my same Union line up. He had Shark, Salt, “How the hell does that guy have Tough Skin?” Jac, Greyscales, Angel and Siren. In true Fisherman fashion, he got a very early goal and a mid-game goal with superstar Angel, and a finishing kick with Jac! My shot attempt failed, even with a Bonus Time kick, and the Fish just proved to be very slippery for my bodycount game. Fishermen win 12-10.

We all got some KFC for dinner (Yo! Sponsor us!) and some soda was provided was Koko for general consumption. There was also a solid disucssion of Heroclix and comics books in general. (Terror: Stop talking and play! You can do that on Facebook! LOL)

John ang Mike played some Infinity to cap off the day (I will update this post when I get more details), while we played some Epic Spell Battle. They played at 300 points, and Mike’s Nomads won versus John’s Morats 11-10.

Saturday, Week 11 – Guild Ball, Infinity

As part of our Guild Ball Tour, we held a demo at Fortress. Thanks to Mike Ang and Edsel Alvarez of Fortress for making that happen. I got to play spectator in a Morticians vs Fishermen match between Fred Escalona and Mike Lim. I also got to demo to an old friend, Jacques Wong, and to a new youngblood who showed interest in the game, stepped up and asked if we can teach it to him (I just got Justin as his name; didn’t ask for his surname). All in all, it was very good first day for Guild Ball over at Fortress.

Right after the Fortress gig, we went over to House of Geek for some more gaming! I got to play a proper 6-man game with my Union versus Joyce Tan’s Brewer’s Guild! I also got to see John Zablan and his Fishermen fight Karlo Piscano and his Masons, as well as Carlo Pulido’s Butchers go up against Jon Lansang’s Masons.

Later that evening, Fred’s Morticians matched up against Karlo’s Masons while John and Jon played some Combined Army vs Combined Army in an Infinity battle.

I also noticed that several players have this utility box from Ace Hardware they use to carry around their skirmish miniatures, so I got one for myself at Greenhills earlier. I figured it would be nice to get a pic of them together (Ace! Sponsor us! LOL)

The doors of the House Of Geek is always open for any miniature game system out there, as well as the tables of Fortress! So if you want to get some game on, or if you want to learn any of the games we play and join us in our fun-loving community, don’t hesitate to drop by and tap us on our shoulders! For any comments or questions, go ahead and post them below.
