More Makati Marauders
Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Makati Marauders gaming club once again opens it doors and lends its tables to miniature wargaming groups of any game system, as well as sister board game groups.
Bloodshed continue to rage across the tables at Makati Marauders, in the form of pretend war (Warmachine/Hordes, Warhammer Age Of Sigmar, Gundam Collectible Tactical Battles, Kings Of War) or smash face sports (Blood Bowl, Guild Ball).
Last week, we had a filled floors. Joe Cole, Aron Von Stemm and Steve McCallum hit the pitch with some Blood Bowl. There was a long attrition between Manu Rabaglia and his Bradigus Thorle the Runecarver went up against JM Fernandez and his Morvahna the Dawnshadow. On the neighboring table, it was Jas Tolentino and his Slaanesh-influenced Chaos army against Mike Suzon’s Stormcast Eternals. I got to play with Kommander Harkevich the Iron Wolf against Aerol Bibat’s Captain Victoria Haley.
Since I forgot to bring my Guild Ball cards, I got to play my Ogres against Jas’ Slaanesh Chaos, too! Edrick Estrada got one table for a demo game of Gundam Collectible Tactical Battles to the WAOS crew, with Glenn Gonzalvo and Athan Pabalinas.
You and your gaming group can play at Makati Marauders with Mondays to Thursdays at 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 2:00 PM to midnight, and Sundays at 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. There’s a small drop in fee of 100.00 Php, with outside food allowed to be brought in. Drinks will have a corkage fee since they are selling some drinks at the counter.
I play a lot at this venue as it is the most convenient for me. Coming from home in the south or work at BGC, it’s one shuttle ride away. The walk to and from the commute points are welcome opportunities to exercise. But primarily, it’s because I can play any game I want on the MM tables.
One word of caution though – parking can be a headache there. Gino and Fred sometimes park their vehicles at Glorietta or Greenbelt, and just walk to the club. You may get lucky and find a parking spot right up front Languages Internationale, but highly unlikely.
Your gang can have food delivered to the gaming club (just keep the food on one separate table, so as not to soil the pretty painted miniatures) or head over to the various food places in Landmark, Greenbelt or Glorietta. There is a Circle K and 711 very near the LI building as well.
Makati Marauders is located at Room 303, Languages Internationale, 926 A. Arnaiz Avenue, Makati, Philippines
